Last night was the Preview Evening for our end of year show. After days of being covered in sawdust, wearing paint splattered jeans and constantly finding white streaks in my hair it was very pleasant to don a cute dress and some lovely heels for an evening of showing our work to family and friends. Although, at one point I could be seen trotting across campus, heels in hand, to the Conference Centre to catch the Fashion Catwalk Show.
Note to self: don’t kid yourself…you’re a flats girl really!!
The White Space Gallery at College was not part of the refurbishment programme last year but with some TLC, OK a lot of TLC, we managed to bring it back to life at least for the next two weeks while the show is on.
Whilst it was quiet, I managed to take a few shots before the show started:
It was great to be exhibiting again, I had forgotten how much fun it can be. I even met a lovely lady last night who remembered me from Somerset Art Weeks. Looking back over my Exhibition Visitors book this morning I realised that was in 2004 – where have those 12 years gone.
If you are in the Taunton area over the next couple of weeks feel free to pop into the college and see the amazing work on display. The Media Make up and Wigs is definitely worth a visit as is the Graphic Design exhibition. The show is open Mon – Fri 10am – 4pm and Saturday 10am – 1pm.
I may see you there as I am in sporadically getting ready for the London show at the end of the month. If you are interested in following our journey to New Designers you can find our work on Instagram @artshouse16
The group of us travelling to London for the show are going to have a great time and can’t wait to go, although we are all terrified of taking Beth’s glass table in the van!! Once we are there I’m sure it’ll be lots of fun with plenty of down-time to enjoy London in the evenings, if we can stay awake that long!
Then I will be launching myself upon the world. I’m ready, are you?
