More From Surface Design Show 2015

Following on from the excitement of meeting Ptolemy Mann at the Surface Design Show  on Thursday I launched myself into the sea of textured concrete, LED lights and laminated wood.  At a quick glance this is all the SDS has to offer.  How wrong!

On closer inspection you find yourself reaching out to touch the textured panels, wave-like curves of ceramics and fur encased in resin. More on that soon….

It was whilst I was stroking some beautifully speckled enamel that I met a charming gentleman who had traveled from the Isle of Wight for the show.

Andy Thearle from A J Wells happily talked me through the possibilities of vitreous enamel as an artistic, surface design material.

This material has so many possibilities that it will definitely be one for me to consider for my current project.  Watch this space!
Aside from the show, I have been following the recent Spoonflower competition as several of my fellow Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design Module are taking part.
If you are wide awake pop over to the Spoonflower blog to cast your vote.
